How NDIS funding works for ramps
Ramps and home modifications generally fall into two funding categories. Knowing which applies speeds up approval.
Assistive technology (AT)
Smaller items like threshold ramps, anti-slip mats and basic grab rails are usually classed as assistive technology. Low-cost AT can often be approved without a detailed assessment; higher-cost items may need an OT recommendation.
Home modifications
Larger work — multiple ramps, bathroom reconfiguration or significant access improvements — generally needs an OT assessment and a formal recommendation in your plan.

Do I need an OT assessment for NDIS-funded ramps?
It depends on cost and complexity. Small items like threshold ramps may not need one; larger installations usually do. We’ll advise what’s likely for you.
Can I choose my own ramp provider under NDIS?
Yes. You have choice and control, and can nominate Ramps R Us as your supplier.
How long does NDIS approval take?
It varies with plan management type and complexity — simple items can take days, larger modifications several weeks. We supply documents promptly to help.
I’m renting — can I still get NDIS ramps?
Yes. Our ramps need no permanent modification, which suits renters and landlords.
What do NDIS disability ramps cost?
