Rubber threshold ramps for doorways and floor transitions

Threshold ramps turn the small lips between rooms into a smooth, safe roll. We custom-make them for doorways, sliding doors and changes in flooring — carpet to tile, timber to tile, or any combination your home throws up. Stepping out through the front or back door? See our doorway ramps, built to the exact height of the lip.

Made to the millimetre

Every ramp is built to your measured height, width and gradient.

AS1428.1 gradients

1:8, 1:10 or the gradient your OT specifies.

4-year guarantee

Plus free removal if you no longer need it.

Versatile applications around the home

A 15mm lip doesn’t look like much until a walker wheel stops dead on it. Our custom threshold ramps remove that jolt at every doorway, so moving between rooms is one continuous motion.

Quality materials and durability

We build threshold ramps from dense recycled rubber designed to take daily wear with minimal maintenance. They don’t scratch floors, don’t need glue and don’t creep across tiles.

Functionality doesn’t have to compromise style: black rubber blends with most floors and door frames, so the ramp looks deliberate, not temporary.

  • Shaped around door jambs and tracks
  • Single-sided or double-sided (both sides of a door)
  • Suits wheelchairs, walkers, scooters and shower chairs

Why choose Ramps R Us for threshold ramps?

Years of doorways across Melbourne have taught us where threshold ramps go wrong — doors that won’t close, ramps that slide on tiles, lips left at the top. We check every door clearance at the assessment and build around it. For front and back doors see doorway ramps; for bathroom entries see shower ramps.

Questions, answered

Threshold Ramps FAQs

Still unsure? Call 0422 166 173 and talk to the people who build the ramps.

What is a threshold ramp?

A small wedge ramp that bridges a raised door sill, track or change in floor height so wheels and feet roll over instead of stepping up.

Will a threshold ramp stop my door closing?

We design ramps to sit below the door swing and check clearance on site. If a door needs a small trim, we tell you before we build.

Do you make threshold ramps for sliding doors?

Yes — for standard sliding, double sliding, stacker and bi-fold doors. Each is shaped to the track configuration.

Can a threshold ramp go on both sides of a door?

Yes. We make matched pairs or a single piece that straddles the sill where the door allows.

Will rubber threshold ramps slip on tiles?

No. They are heavy and grippy on the underside, so they stay put on tile, timber and vinyl.

How much do rubber threshold ramps cost?

Small threshold ramps are our most affordable product. We quote a fixed price after measuring, and offer package pricing for multiple doorways.

Are threshold ramps NDIS funded?

Often, as low-cost assistive technology. We supply quotes suitable for your plan manager.
