When a timber ramp is the right call
Rubber ramps are unbeatable for sills, tracks and shower hobs. Timber takes over when you need a long, structural ramp with landings and rails. Many homes need both: timber at the front steps, rubber at every internal doorway.

When the rise is larger than roughly 150mm, spans several steps, or you want a permanent ramp with rails that matches the house.
Do timber ramps need council approval?
Larger permanent ramps may need a building permit depending on height and location. We’ll tell you at the assessment.
Can you combine timber and rubber ramps?
Yes — a timber ramp at the front steps and rubber ramps at internal doors is one of the most common whole-home solutions.
How do you stop a timber ramp being slippery?
We use anti-slip treads or rubber surfacing and add safety edging at the top and bottom.
